The Eye of the Beholder, based in Switzerland, uses personal information to respond to enquiries, provide requested publications and catalogues, maintain correspondence with collectors and scholars, and share The Collector’s Letter.

Information we collect

Depending on your interaction, this may include your name, email address, optional telephone number, collecting or scholarly interests, correspondence, and your communication preferences.

How information is used

When you request a complimentary website publication or catalogue through our website or Meta lead form, your details are used to fulfil that request and to include you in The Collector’s Letter: occasional updates about scholarship, new catalogues and selected works. This is disclosed at the point of collection or in the request confirmation. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Service providers and retention

We may use specialist hosting and email-delivery providers acting on our instructions. Information is retained only as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, applicable record-keeping obligations, and the protection of legitimate interests.

Anonymous website analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the website is discovered and which pages, publications and collection areas are of greatest interest. Plausible is configured as a privacy-friendly analytics service: it does not use advertising cookies, create personal profiles or track visitors across unrelated websites. The resulting statistics help us improve the scholarly usefulness and accessibility of the website.

You may unsubscribe from The Collector’s Letter at any time, or ask to access, correct or delete your information, by writing to eyeofthebeholder.gallerie@gmail.com.

International visitors

We seek to handle personal information consistently with applicable Swiss data-protection requirements and, where relevant, the rights of visitors from the European Economic Area and United Kingdom.
